Congratulations to Shane Deeley ( far left) and Savannah Dearden ( far left) for racing hard and earning the title of USAT Florida Junior Regional Champion. The top 5 juniors all walked away with goodies provided by USAT Florida region, Outspokin Bicycles and Morton Plant Mease race organizers.
Junior athletes from the region converged on the beach of Sand Key and Clearwater to test themselves against some of the best junior athletes in the state. The course proved tough with 1/3 mile open water swim, 13 miles on the bike including 3 large bridges and a hot and humid 5k run on combination sand, crushed gravel and asphalt.
In addition to top 5 athletes receiving awards, the junior athletes who posted the fastest swim, bike and run splits were acknowledged and received prizes for those efforts.

The Morton Plant Mease Triathlon will be the venue for the 2011 USAT-Florida Junior Regional Championship. Date will be announced on this blog and through USAT-FL regional communications on the national USAT website.
