Crystal River Triathlon TIDS #3

The Crystal River Triathlon has been a loyal supportor of the USAT Florida Talent ID Series since it's inception back in 2010. This year the competition saw some new faces within the Series and on the podium. 

Congratulations to Sam Shaffer for his 4th place Overall finish and winning the Talent ID race with the fastest time for 16-19. Ciara Hopkins continues her streak with another TIDS win and a 2nd Overall female. 

On the Youth side, Lachlan Hovius found himself on the top step for the 13-15 boys division and Jessica Blazek was the 13-15 girls winner.

Congratulations to all athletes who raced and look forward to the fierce competetion in the three remaining races in the Series.

Escape from Ft Desoto Talent ID #2

Escape from Ft Desoto was race #2 in the talent ID Series. Athletes battled tough weather conditions but they proved they are tougher than the rest of the competition.

Congratulations to Graham Pimentel (Naples, 17) and Ciara Hopkins ( Clermont, 17) for winning not only the Talent ID Series #1 but taking home the OVERALL wins in the men's and women's fields.

Also showing their true grit were Youth athletes Ricardo Reyes ( Tampa, 15) and Reagan Quilty ( St. Petersburg, 14) for winning the Talent ID 13-15 category.

March Update: F1 & Talent ID Race #1 Winners

March was a busy month kicking off F1 racing and the USAT Florida Talent ID Series.


Regional athletes who earned a place on the podium at the Clermont and Sarasota F1 races are as follows:

A big thank you to all of the regional athletes who came to race and mark your calenders for the F1 series finale held on Saturday May 31st at Lake Lousia State Park. You can register for this race by going to www.aaatrirace.com

This past weekend, the 2014 Talent ID Series race #1 was held in conjunction with the Florida Challenge Sprint Triathlon. Big thank you to Fred Sommers and the Sommers Sport staff for a great race.

Emma Stock 13-15 winner

If you are looking for more information on the USAT National Skills and Select Camp-Florida applications, please email Jennifer Hutchison at eSportsRD@aol.com for more information. Camp details will appear  on a tab above by Feb 1st. Camp dates are set for June 16- June 21, 2014 and will take place in Groveland, Florida ( ~20 min outside of Clermont).
